Introduction to the Plone content management system

Jan-Carel Brand

I have a degree in Engineering and Applied Mathematics from the University of Stellenbosch and about seven years' experience developing add-ons and customizations for the Plone content management system.

I've sprinted with the best Plone core developers in San Francisco and Europe and will be giving a talk at the upcoming Plone conference on writing real-time web applications with Plone, javascript and XMPP.

Together with some excellent South African Python developers at Upfront Systems I developed Plone-based software for a large number of South African sites, the most notable probably being 5FM.

In Germany I worked with Syslab on developing Plone-based intranets for the European Union and some large multinational corporations.

I'm now back in South Africa and have been running a Plone-based software consultancy for the last two years, called Opkode.
